I have a one month old HP G62 laptop with an Intel I5 processor, and the display randomly fades. Any ideas?

The display will randomly fade, and the colors will turn very pastel-like. I know it is not sleeping or dimming because I can continue to work on the computer, and all of the other functions stay normal. After a few minutes it will brighten up again and the color will return to normal. Any idea as to what is causing this?
