Republicans oppose socialism. Why don't they refuse to accept Medicare or try to end it?

For the past 30 years, the IRS has taken taxes out of every one of my paychecks, to help pay for Medicare. I had no choice in the matter. I will not refuse to accept something that I have already paid for. The problem is by the time I will be able to use it, it will be insolvent, and there is a question if I will ever see any use of this program for myself, even though I have helped fund it!
