Dove Flew Away please help!?

Couple weeks ago I found a little ringneck dove so I fed it until it grew then the sad part came I let it go but the next morning it was on my porch so I fed and released again. The same thing happened for like 2 weeks but one day I decided to take it with me outdoors but it flew away and this time it has not appeared on my porch. It has ped four days since he has not bin back I am afraid he has been eaten by a hawk or died because he did not eat well. Will he still comeback or he is lost forever?
