firstly it's called football, because you use your foot to move the ball around, and it's by far the best game in the world, in the UK girls like it just as much as the boys. it's not as popular in the US because the yanks like high scoring games which you rarely get in football, and lots of stoppages for tv adverts, which is not possible in football, plus they like to be the best at what they play, what other country would call it the world series when only they play it, like in baseball, and it's unlikely that they will ever be the best at football, so perhaps they don't try as hard. having said that there are some really good yanks playing these days so who knows.
